power trim trouble

ok guys i am having power trim problems i have a johnson 150 the trim relays will stick and it want come up and sometimes it want go down i bought new relays and put on it and it want go up or down if i put the old ones back in it it will work fine until they stick the u can tap them with a screwdriver and they will work again why want the 2 new ones i bought work at all thanks for the help in advance

Do you mean solenoids? Or actual relays.... what you cAn do is jump the selonoids to see if it's the motor unit. That's the best idea I can think of. Your problem does sound unusual.

I'd bring them back where you bought them and swap them for another set. Or,Maybe try one new one at a time and see if the trim only runs one way. That would verify that the new ones are faulty or they are not the correct relays. Its rare to get 2 new ones that are faulty.
