Many of you may not know Clay aka Swamp Donkey on the forum but some of you will remember who I am talking about but I hate to bring this news but Clay passed away this morning of an apparent heart attack. He leaves behind a mother and son who will miss him dearly. Please keep his family in your prayers as they go through this tough time of losing a loved one. I can reflect back on Swamp Donkey and the days we camped and fished on the big G. We had many great times and Clay was the type of person who would go above and beyond to help anyone out as he was a person that never met a stranger. He was always full of energy and on the go even on the trolling motor sometimes faster than the bass could swim....I will miss him dearly as well as he was a close friend of mine for the past several years. I can reflect one USA bassin tx on the G where Flip one and his brother met us at camp for a few well many CB's and their goal was to get us a little loose lipped and share some of our fishing holes with them, well it back fired and Clay and I had to do the taking care instead, it was indeed a great time of fellowship with great friends. On the happy side about today is he believed in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ therefore guess where he is right now, with our father in heaven, how special is that! I truly will miss him, his laughters a great fishing partner and true friend but I know in my heart he is in a better place now. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers and God Bless emoAngel

After your call Kathy, I haven't been able to get him off my mind.
Some tough news!
I wasn't around him a lot but the times I was, he sure left an impression.
Real good down to earth guy!
I can see him on the front of his boat on the G (at the jungle) side arm casting, blaring music and that fast retrieve.
Prayers sent for the family.

emoSorry emoAngel PRAYERS!!! I met Swamp donkey(CLAY) at a BFL TOURNY on the G. He was a boater for a good friend of mine (BASSER9). My observation was that He was a fine person and fun to be around.

He also left behind a brother which I thought he had but never had the pleasure of meeting. I did talk to his brother and of course the family is in a state of shock. Clay will be at McDougald Funeral Home in Laurinburg, NC. If anyone would like to leave a reflection, you can google search the funeral home and he should be listed on their website within a day or so....
And JSV, your right he was a side arm caster, thank goodness he had a 21 ft statopotamus and he loved dancing and casting while catching the bucketmouths. Truly a great friend that will be missed...
