We have lost a great family member this week. My grandmother died peacefully Tuesday night around 10pm. Most of you know that we've seen her ups and down near death in the past only for her to jump right back into things. She was a strong woman by far!

I held the up most respect for her...raising 3 girls on her own after her husband died at an very young age. I want to say he was 39. She moved from Pa to TN about 12 years ago so my mom could keep a better eye on her and provide the are she would need. I thank god that happened! My mom is a RN and dedicated the last 3-4 years providing for her care in her own home, right up to the end.

Its been tough on me. I have only had 1 grandparent in my life and she was it. I guess she more than made up for not having others being she lived till 96 years of age. Heck, she's outlived everyone she ever knew growing up. I'll miss her greatly and the conversations we always had. The things she saw in her life....I'm not so sure any of us will see them in the course they ran back then. Depression, wars, technology...So many leaps and bounds during her years on this earth.

My family and I will be at Williamson and Son Funeral Home in Soddy Thursday Night from 4-8. Then she will be flown to PA to be laid to rest with my grandfather.

Please keep us in your prayers and thoughts during our loss and our travels.
