Prayers for Spurhunter

[Cat Head]

This is my first post on this website. Spurhunter is my dad. Yesterday after we got home from catfishing, my dad went to clean them and one fell off the tail gate and he tried to catch it out of instinct, and the dorsal barb stuck him in the palm, close to the thumb. He ended up going into shock about 15-20 minutes later from the pain. I'm a Boyscout and just achieved my First Aid Merit Badge so I knew how to bring him out of it. My mom called 911 and got an ambulance to come. They didn't take him on the ambulance we just took him in the car to the Hospital. I waited in the Emergency waiting room for about five hours. He's sick from the slime or something. So I just ask that you pray for him to get better. That would be fantastic. Thanks.emoAngel

With just a seemingly innocent injury, he ends up in the hospital. That's all it takes folks. I pray he gets well real soon young man.

Sorry to hear of your dad`s accident....those sticks can sure be painful for days especially if they get the slime irritation.
Good job on your part to treat the shock. As a former Boy Sprout myself I`ve had the opportunity to use knowledge I learned in the Scouts many times over the years . Stick with Scout stuff and you`ll never regret it. It was one of the highlights of my life.

Prayers sent for your dad. Catfish fins with their spikes can create really bad wounds, that's for sure! I'm sorry to hear that he has had such a bad reaction to the injury. Let us know how he does.

Thanks for everyone's thoughts and prayers, and I was glad my scout was around to help mom. I am back in the saddle now...it was a very rough day yesterday. I dont know what was happening, but I was sick as a dog, maybe from the poison, trauma, exhaustion, I am just not sure. I just know that it was horrible. Thanks again, and thanks for making Cat Head feel welcome! He's a great kid!
