I'm not a big bass guy. I enjoy bass fishing but I don't do it much because it's a sport fish that I feel like I should release and I have always liked fishing for dinner. That being said, I registered for the fishing with a soldier tournament today and I was wondering if anyone would be willing to go out with me the Sunday before? I'm not looking for anyone's honey holes. I just want a little help so that the service member that I get paired up with has a decent day. I know I could put him/her on some crappie, but it's not a crappie tournament..

If you don't get any responses, I will go with you. I can't promise anything and I hope for your sake and your partners that someone else will
Take you up on your request. I am planning on doing some pre fishing myself. SOMEBODY please help Travis out so I don't embarrass myself.

I was thinking about doing it myself but after the cba yesterday I only had one 6 pounder to show for it. I would love to take these guys out for a good day on the water but I feel like I'd let them down in a tournament right now. I may sign up but if I don't I'll go and try to help you out.

If I was a more astute fisherman I would participate if it happened to fall on my weekend off. To me bottom line here is it is a Tournament, but then again it's much more than that, and I'll leave it at that. The thing to do IMO is boaters participating should have a pre-fish day where they all share and contribute information as to the locations and tactics used to catch fish, after all, it's all about the soldiers. And with our electronics these days it would be as simple as compiling way points and sharing them.

You have to sign up by the end of the month and they have more vets than boaters. Sign up man. They need you. I'm not too worried about how well I do. I hope we do great, but if not, a bad day fishing is still a good day. I was thinking that if the bass are being difficult I would possibly abort mission and go get some crappie depending on what my partner thinks about it..

I fished this last year and plan to fish this year. The fish should be on the bank but I'm sure whoever you take will just appreciate going. Looking forward to it again this year.
