Anyone else heading up there this weekend? I've been up there a few times over the past couple of weeks and have found some nice rubs and a couple of really big scrapes. All this rut talk has me fired up. emoHoppingmad emoParty emoHungry

The best hunt of the year for that WMA, should be some real nice bucks harvested. Good luck and give us a report!

Went yesterday morning. At 8:30am I had a spike at 60 yards but I let him walk. Never saw another deer the rest of the day. When I left at 5pm there had been 16 bucks checked and the biggest was a 6.5 year old 8 point that scored 148! One of the officers I talked to said it was the biggest and oldest buck he had ever seen up there. Have to work today so I'll head back up there tomorrow morning.

Hunted there this morning. On the way in, board showed 19 deer for Friday. On the way out at 12:00, board showed 22 total. My nephew and I only saw 1 deer. Enjoyed the morning even if it was a little slow.

Wow that sounds like a beast of a deer! It should be just as good tomorrow, stay in the stand! Feed times are about 12, well 11 with the time change.

I saw that Buck at the Check-in station. I have killed some good deer and have seen many good deer, but that deer had to be the best 8 pntr I have ever seen. The eye guards were as thick as three fingers, The main beam was the diameter of my arm and at the G-2 and G-3's they were palmed out beautifully. I have never seen as near perfect typical antlers that heavy from base to tip. That 148 score does not show the true story, the mass of those antlers was awesome. Of all the times to not have my camera with me.

My good friend Jason Killed the big buck. I'll post a pic in a minute. Its a toad. But not the biggest I have seen from there. Donny Hutchinson Killed an absolute giant 160+" deer 2 years ago. It was a giant 8 with a huge drop tine and other trash. Donnies buck had 8"bases. Either way they are both great bucks and proof of what our mountains can grow when a buck gets old enough.

drool away. As always, pics never give em any justice. a super massive, mature buck! Congrats Jason Brooks!
