I just swiped this from bassfan.com for Bprice. Seems his hero, former Backstreet Boy and Speedo wearer Byron Velvick, got thumped ... by his chick. emoLaugh

Several news outlets, including the Associated Press, are reporting that pro Byron Velvick is the likely victim of a domestic abuse case. Reportedly, his longtime companion Mary Delgado was arrested Wednesday morning for assaulting her fiancé. Her fiancé is presumed to be Velvick.

The two met in front of a national audience on TVs The Bachelor, and fished together this year and last in the Bassmaster Elite Series – Velvick as a pro and Delgado as a co-angler.

Sources quoting the arrest affidavit report that Delgado allegedly punched her fiancé and cut his upper lip. The same sources report Delgado was arrested in Florida's Pinellas County, charged with misdemeanor domestic battery, then released on her own recognizance, and that alcohol was a factor. "


The most comical part of that story is that Velvick kept getting refered to as a "pro." Rrrrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

Ahhhhh I see hollywood has infiltrated the bass fishing circuit. Any news in the paper is better than no news in the paper. Paparatzie will be following them everywhere like Britney.
 
I've wondered how Mr. Velvick can call his own self a pro. I saw a report in bass times about a year ago and Velvick's LIFE TIME EARNINGS was only about 50 grand . For as many years as he has called hisself a pro, that's not a very good living. I quess that's why he can call his abuser a "Pro Women Angler."
