Have any of you tried the Producer swimbaits? What did you think? Any specific style or color pattern perform better than another? I'm looking for a swimbait in the 6.5 to 7" range that has a good thump when slow-rolled on a 1/8 to 1/4oz belly weight hook.

Check out the 3:16 lures "rising son" swim baits. They come in a range of sizes and offer a line-through treble option and solid boddy for rigging on a screw lock/ belly weighted hook. Look at the videos on you tube

I love the kietech swimbaits when you can use an exposed hook. I have lost way too many fish with a belly hook on those when fishing heavy grass.

7" Basstrix paddle tail are awesome. Ayu color. They crush 'em! On bassmaster dot com under video's, you can watch Skeet Reese Byron Velvic crush 'em on Guntersville. Tackle Warehouse sells them as well as swimbait city. I use a 7/0 gamakatsu screw loc belly weight. 1'4 oz for shallow stuff and 3/8 for deeper. Its not just the tail action with the Basstrix. The entire body puts out a nice wobble and the density of the plastic is perfect. When you tap or thump the bait with your finger, it puts out a nice vibration. Great baits! IMO.

Basstrix don't have anything on them either... They're hand poured and so soft that it's unbelievable. They swim unlike about 3 out of 4 basstrix and the colors are better than scottsboro tackle
