Thanks to some poor choices this spring (1 at Watts Bar, 1 at the Chick and 1 at Old Hickory), I got some dings in my prop. First few were not that bad, was able to use a hammer/dolly and stone to make things right. By the time my last ding occurred, I might have ground a little too much and have lost almost 8mphs. Does this seem "normal"? There wasn't a ding larger than a eraser head and I am worried that I have motor issues because I can grab RPM's so much faster now. I am hoping it's just prop slippage. I am getting the prop fixed now, hopefully I am, back to normal. I had already bought a jackplate to change the lift a little so I have to start out with a clean prop. I have a 2006 Ranger 188VS w/150 Yamahammer. Any comments or similar experiences would be appreciated (besides being called dumbarse for hitting stumps chasing bedding fish!)

this may not be a popular answer but I swapped to a modular prop. it was pretty cheap and I get better performance then I did with an aluminum prop. Also with the prop that I have it has replaceable blades that are only 20 bucks so if I ding it up too bad I just swap out a blade.
