prop seal

How big of a job is it to change a prop seal on a 1996 evinrude intruder 150 ? I drained my lower unit oil and found it had water in it. When i got to digging i found a big ball of fishing line wrapped around the prop shaft and i`m afraid it has cut the seal..

There are 2 seals on the prop shaft.( unless it has a double sealed single seal)</p>

It is not that big of a deal. I pull the carrier , then use a slide hammer, so I don't take a chance of breaking the carrier trying to pry the seals out and then I use a special tool to install the seals.You take a big chance of bending a seal having to beat the seal in around the prop. </p>

Parts.... 2 prop shaft seals and carrier seal and it is a safe/ simple repair. JMO......</p>
