does any one use a quartz heater to heat with?and if so what brand and how good do they work?i live in a 16x80 mobile home and i am looking for a more economical way to heat with.thanks guys emoScratch

I think you'll be a better fisherman if you leave a warm wife at home. LOL!! I actually tried one of the Eden Pure Heaters down in my unfinished basement. My wife found one on sale. Short version, I took it back the next day. These heaters do put out a fair amount of heat. Would work OK as a supplement to your primary heat source or in a closed bed room, etc. I would not depend on it as a primary heat source for your trailer. I would definitely NOT buy one of the expensive ones, Eden Pure, etc.

i have been reading a lot of reviews on different ones and it is about 50/50 on the pros and cons. if this don't go here please move.

Use a 10/1 watt to sq. foot ratio. It does not matter what type of electric heat source. 1500 watts heats about 150 square feet.

Infrared is no more or less efficient than quartz or ceramic or any other electric heat. An electric watt of heat is an electric watt of heat regardless of "source".

Have you researched those advertised by LILY'S? Buy one...get one free? A frind uses one in his cabin on the Hiwasee.

i have terry and what i have been able to find out is half the people say they are good and do a good job.the other half say they wont do the job.

My father uses one since it is just him at home. He says it works well and saves him having to turn on his Central Heating Unit as much in the winter.
