Question about lss1 and lss 2?

What would be the pros and cons on hooking a lss 2 to the gen 1 hds units?Does anybody have a good used unit for sale that they are updating?

When I was reaserching getting my HDS-8 and Structure scan I read somewhere when the LSS-2 came out that if you had a gen 1 unit the Lss-2 gave you a bit more distance then the Lss-1 and a bit better quality picture but I cant seem to find where I read it. I went with Gen 2 just because is was the latest and allowed you to do the structure maping. I also held out on the structure scan till the Lss-2 came out and so far Ive used it 4 times and love it... Just need more time on the water.

According to what Lowrance Technical has told me, you will see greater range and resolution using the LSS-2 with Gen 1 or Gen 2 units. They have also stated you can increase range and resolution of your LSS-1 by using the LSS-2 transducer. As of yet I have not found any written data on the matter.
