Question about price and brand of unit

Ok so I already have a Lowrance HDS5x in the bow and am going to replace the unit at the console. I am seriously considering an HSD7 unit as I want to add Side Scan later and the HDS5x can use it. So I have a couple of questions, should I go with the lowrance or sell my HDS5x and replace the whole lot with Humminbird? I kind of want to stay with the Lowrance since they do have a lot of add ons so I can add the bells and whistles as I have the funds. Also is this a good deal?

Also if I understand correctly the base unit has maps in it but now all lakes where as the insight has all the lakes and 3D is that correct?

That`s a deal if new! Usually a low price is 900$ plus for HDS-7 and about 600 $for SS. I love my set-up....HDS 7 Base map and HotSpots chip and SS. Low332c up front. I can swivel the HD7 enough to see it from the front deck on the Bullet.

Looks like that is for new units!! They have 20 of them.. So with the base model you add your own chip, in other words you can put the insight chip in the base model and now its an insight model? Is that the only real difference between them??

base map is just that a... a base..not of anything.....I already had the HotSpots so I plugged it in
