I was offered a used trailor hitch for my 1994 Nissan Pathfinder for $50. HOWEVER, it is a 1" receiver size
Q. Is that too small to use to pull a 14.5' aluminum V-bottom with a 9.5 hp motor ?

I know the 2" receiver would be better but I would be looking at 3 or more times the cost

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

The 1" receiver I believe is a class 1 hitch and it should handle your boat just fine and a little more. Class i hitches are the smallest available commercially. They are rated for up to a 2000 pound trailer and up to a 200 pound tongue weight. It is doubtful that your boat, motor and trailer weigh much more than 1000 pounds.

Ditto on what the Cheeze man says but you would probably need a 2" receiver for other hauling jobs. Wallyworld has them for sale, also Uhaul and Trucks and trailers in hixson, call around and see who has the best price installed, there are probably a lot more places who sell them.

THANKS ! Very helpful

I also appreciate the quick responses.

Tight lines to ya'
