Hey Guys, I was hoping someone could shed some light on the number of smallmouth one is allowed to possess during a tournament on both Nick and Chick? I thought it was 1 smallie per angler, but it looks like the FLW Series on Chick is allowing 2 per angler. What are the rules? Are there exemption permits? I was just curious as my club fishing Nick and Chick, and we go by the rule of 1 smallie/angler. It sure would be nice if we could weigh in more :) Thanks in advance for the help tim

RE: question on smallmouth limit????

Both Nick and Chick have limits of one smallmouth, 18". I've not heard of any changes being contemplated.

Yep, as said...just one per angler. If you weigh as a team the two of you can weigh in two. emoAngel Jmax

RE: question on smallmouth limit????

FLW sometimes obtains a variance from the standing rules for a specific tournament. I fished a tournament in Minnessota where the limit was three bass but for the FLW Tournament it was 5. Also fished Lewis Smith Lake where the limits on all species of bass was reduced to 12 inches.

Yep!</p>

The limit is 1 smallmouth 18" long PER PERSON not 2 per boat. If one guy catches them both they are breaking tournament rules. Even if they caught the fish in Alabama it would still be illegal to possess them on Nickajack or Chickamauga. They might get a variance but TWRA does not ususally grant those.
