Here's a quick trick for sharing info with your team tournament partner or a buddy who is practicing for a tournament on a lake he/she is not familiar with. No matter whether you have Humminbird, Raymarine or Lowrance, all you need is the Navionics App on your smartphone and a Navionics card in your CHARTPLOTTER to transfer the data.

For this demonstration I'm going to use my iPhone to take the screenshots and send the text messages.

I was recently practicing for a team tournament and my partner was also out practicing from his own boat, this way we could cover water quicker. I located a nice school of bass hanging on a weed line and wanted to let him know so that he could idle around it and check it out, save the waypoint in his graphs and of course, not fish it so he wasn't wasting out time and wearing out the school unnecessarily.

First thing i do is open up my Navionics App in my iPhone or iPad. This should show my current location and I'll touch the exact location of the school to bring up the crosshairs and take a simple screenshots to do this on an iPhone you'll simply hold down the HOME button which is the circle button on the bottom front of the phone as well as hold down the on/off button located on the top right side of the phone. You'll hold these down at the same time and that'll save a screen shot to your photo library on your phone.

Next, tap the ? Icon on the right side of the crosshairs and this will open up a screen that shows the exact waypoint coordinates. Take another screen shot.

Next you'll simply attach these screenshots to a text same as you would a photo to a friend.
