went to racoon mnt. today to try for some cats, had a few small bites but I didnot land any
it was very windy.so i went to nickajack and the water was to swift.
I guess I will stick to the ponds tomarrow.
Give me rain, heck even give me snow, but don't give me wind to fish in. A gentle breeze, yes! Anything above 5mph is tough for the kind of fishing that I like to do.emoGeezer
The pump station can be really good or really bad as you found out. We fish it a lot in the spring and early summer and at times you can catch a lot of cats there. My best this year off the pump station was 17lbs. AlvinC son caught a 35 lber there a few years back. I know there must be bigger fish there but just have not found them yet.
Next time you fish it try suspending your bait vertically down the wall. Try different depths. We catch a lot of fish around the wall (within 5 feet of the wall) suspended about 20-30 feet (the water depth around the wall is about 40 feet on average). Everyone I see fishing from the walkway cast out as far as they can when the fish are probably 20 feet under their shoes.
