Rage Hypodermics

Never shot mechanical points at a deer before was always leary about them failing. When rage first came out I bought a pack but they were so dull I didn't like them so I didn't use them. Im hoping sence I purchased a couple of packs of these expensive Hypodermics that I'm going to like them. They shoot really well but when they are moving parts involved there is room for failure. Anybody field tested these?

I have always been told when using mechanical blades to take the O-ring off and replace with rubber bands from a orthodontist office.

I use the Hypodermic and love them.... Big exit hole on deer iv killed and very strong broad heads... I will say on impact they are quite loud when you hit the deer so don't worry you didn't miss haha
and the shock collars they come with work great never had mechanical problems with them

I don't care much for them but everybody has theyre on opinon, I shot a big 11point in illnois and hit back of shoulder and got no penetration with a 70 pound bow at 35 yds, a muzzy might have made a difference and maybe not, buddy found deer in brush pile a few days later and finished it off, all they found wrong was a huge bruised area on side of deer, like I said this is me everybody is different.

I have first hand knowledge from this last week. Antelope hunting in Wyoming, I tried the rage hypo for the first time. I too have heard good and bad about rage, and was curious. I have always shot muzzy or slick trick, 100 grain.

I shot the hypo at antelope from 46 yards with 65 lb bow...either animal moved, or wind caused drift, but I hit square in the shoulder. Did not get full penetration or pass thru. The antelope ran 60 yards, piled up, got up and tried to run, could not. Shoulder blade busted in half. The arrow only went in 6"-8", but did significant damage. I watched animal bleed out and die in about 15 minutes. Arrow still stuck in shoulder. Massive entry wound, great blood trail. Yes is very loud impact, sounded like I hit a garage door with a ball bat. I will not throw away my muzzys but I will shoot the rage hypos this deer season. They fly exactly like my field points.

Btw, I have them in my quiver but shot my last 2 deer with 100 grain 3 blade exodus with my bow.

I have used the Rage Crimson Talons the past few years. the deer I have shot with them have dropped within 25 yards and had a huge blood trail. The down side to them is that they are a one time broad head. They will bend very easily. I still have 3 packs and may go to something else when they are gone.
