Just wanted to thank the crew from Pieate Racing. I had a very busy week and today was no different. Got to the dam with about two hours to fish. Saw a minivan trying to load a sailboat in the wind and a truck on the other side of ramp messing with their boat. I can live with that. What ticked me off was the guys setting up a racing boat and felt entitled to leave the F350 and trailer parked in the center of the ramp!! Clearly their time was more valuable than mine. I don't get to fish as much as I would like so my time on the lake is precious to me. Thanks to all this crap I ended up with enough time to fish one spot. ONE SPOT! I wish I knew what people were thinking sometimes. I understand that the minivan had a hard time loading a boat with the north wind. I understand that the other guy was having some kind of trouble with his boat. I DONT understand why you would put a boat in the water and park the trailer on the ramp and just stand there watching the whole time! Please be considerate of other people on the lake. I load and unload myself all the time and it's pitiful how often I can do either way faster than two guys.

I have had much the same problem on Watts Bar, Ft. Loudoun and Tellico. Pull up at a ramp and there is a truck, empty trailer and no one around. It is amasing how many multiple flat tires happen to trucks that are sitting still.emoLaugh

People live in their own selfish little worlds... The worst of all are the weekend pleasure boaters who can only rig and load their boat in the center at the top of the ramp. From uncovering to chasing down the Kids. One would think that public ramps would have parking areas and staging areas for this time consuming stuff. These same people get their boat road ready before clearing the ramp as well. My way of dealing with them is to "INNOCENTLY" start backing onto the ramp heading right at them. That forces them to run out to stop me.. I then say. OMG I thought you would have been out of the way and over there where you are supposed to do all the other stuff by now... They are informed and they move thinking I am a Nut... They may get and learn the proper procedure if all these Crazy Fishermen act as if they will run over them enough.. You can not act aggressive or as if you are mad.. The being dumb and half blind act gets far better results without getting hostile reactions.

The worst ones are seasoned anglers that block the whole ramp before they even get there boat ready to launch{like they have a hole to get to that they don't want anyone else to beat them to)
Ignorance on the ramp is almost exusable -but total rudeness and selfishness just shows you what a jerk someone can be!
Good topic Liveliner! emoThumbsup

HBSP ramp has the same problem with Tournament Bass Anglers on Saturday parking three wide just shooting the bull in the area guys pull up to back in the ramp... Why do this unload your, tie off and then shoot the bull. Why block this area, its not a parking area...

I meant to type Pirate Racing. Let the rant continue I'm hoping they or one of their crew sees this somehow. I wanted to say something but my wife was with me and she knew I couldn't be rational since I waited to the point of being mad. And yes the area at HBSP in front of the fuel tank gets very clogged up. It just seems I'm one of the few that back in, unload and tie off, and park my truck in a timely fashion. And I have also seen the bass boats that shoot right to the top of the ramp and THEN get the boat set up. You should do this before you even get to the ramp. I see this all the time at CFP.

AAARGH! Fire a shot across their bow there matey ......Blast their mizzenmast and heave chain to their topsail.......No one shall be safe if they cross Captain Ramp hog

I had a guy pull long ways across the ramp at CFP and stop and just sat there for a minute SO I just started backing up. He quickly moved. He said he was sorry once I was unloaded. He thought I was leaving????? I wanted to say does the boat and trailer look wet or water draining / there's ur sign!! But Im a nice guy

From what some of you are sayin, I'm glad I don't drag my feet unloading my boat! haha I hate it when the summer idiots get out and are getting their rigs ready while they are backed down the ramp. Some people either just don't think or believe they own the water...

Never damage another vehicle it is not worth the time. I always carry a core tool for removing stem cores. Just walk around remove the stem caps and open the cores( more then one) and leave for another ramp. Don't throw anything away just make sure it is as inconvenient for them as it was for you. They will remember it the next time.

And that ties up the ramp for who knows how long til they get the tires fixed. Brlliant! You just inconvenienced others so you could show your ass. Man up; wait on them and tell them they're being ********. Or call the law and let them work it out; the PR stays right there at HBSP.

I understand people getting mad when waiting on someone at the ramp and I do also. I think some people just dont realize that they are stopping the flow of traffic at ramp but some are just self consumed a$$holes. We were fishing a small river couple years ago and was fixin to take out and there was a truck and trailer parked on the ramp.We ran up the river and found the boat that matched the trailer and the older gentleman in the boat just forgot to park his truck. What Im saying is that everyone is young anymore and are slower or cant back straight down the ramo straight anymore. But a self consumed a$$hole will get an ear full and deserve it.

I have had this happen on three different single boat ramps as I said on Loudoun/ Tellico. Specificantly boat builders and preppers, drop their truck and trailersdown a ramp, gofor a test and will be gone for up to an hour. It has never happened again.

I have NO interest in getting into legal trouble OR damaging someone's personal property. I should've said something at that point, but I sat in my truck watching and waiting and got angry. At that point, I knew and my wife, (more importantly) knew I couldn't manage my temper. This has been a year to year battle for me lol. The problem was he was the only one that had no business on the ramp and he knew I was having to wait and he just stood there perched on his trailer like he owned that third of the ramp. To make matters worse I finally got backed down and in my haste I slipped off the toungue of my trailer and got my new shoes all wet! HAHA
