Is there a good ramp on the chick side of the dam? Preferbly on the south side of the lake. I come from georgia. Safe parking lot etc..

Booker T is a good place, but never put in at that ramp. They patrol that area and have a gaurd at the gate house with a gun. State Park Police.... but the Ramp RIGHT above the dam is a very nice park. Take 153 up to Amnicola Hwy exit, go right, then immediate left. That will take you right into the park. I've heard that people have had windows busted out there in the past, but it's within view of a very large marina and EVERY TIME I've been there, there have been police patrolling the parking lot. Take all of your stuff with you in the boat and worst case is they bust a window or jack your truck. Hope this helps.... And I hope you can get some pickin' and grinnin' going at the CFF picnic when they get it booked!!!!

yup a good ramp and docks to tie up to not sure how low it is now but usually you can launch a normal boat in the winter but it does have a drop off at the end so be carefull,

Thanks, I am wanting to fish over around Lakeshore Marina and I hate putting in in harrison and burning gas all way to the dam. I have a small PA we can set up at the picnic. We can do some pickin'

Take 153 north to Amnicola exit right b4 you get to the dam, go to top of ramp, turn right at light, go to stop sign, turn left at Kings Point Road, follow the road past the Chickamauga marina stay right around to the ramp.
This TVA ramp good deep ramp year round. free to park and launch. and is with in rock throwing distance of the Dam

Ps Ive launched there many many times never had any problems, TVA , Chatt City, and County cops patrol the area often

here is a google map coming from Ringgold, GA

NA,

I ride my mountain bike at Booker T all the time and I've never seen a gate house. Is it down by the ramp?

Thanks,
Bill

The only gate house that I have ever seen there was at the park entrance and I used to live about 2 minutes away and have used that ramp many times, winter and summer. It is patrolled a lot. Also, it is about a 4 mile run to the dam from there.

I thought that was the park office, thats what I call it anyway.

Yes, the park office is what I was calling the gate house. And that's what the officer I spoke with inside told me yesterday when I stopped in to talk to him. My wife and I were looking at homes and lots in that area to move to. Either way, he had a 9mm on his hip and I discussed the amount of crime he had in the park. He said VERY few breakin's and mostly just people drinking and smokin' the wacky is the only thing they have challenges with there.
