Hey all .. there is a ramp at the end of the bay next to old rickety marina near harbor lights right next to the road .. nothing around says you cant launch there .. I was gonna ask in the lil store on the other side of parking lot .. but its closed down.
Is that a public ramp ? and how safe is it there to leave a vehicle .. is there any hours of operation there ?

Yeah you can use the ramp. However, it is in terrible condition and there is no dock there anymore. That is Lakesite Marina. I don't know how safe leaving a vehicle there is now that the store is closed.

like Fish hunter said you can use it, its a little rough, and security of vehicle's, have had no problems the three or four times i used it.

I kept looking at it .. could never decide if was ok or not .. and its closer to the Sequoia than Soddy or Chester Frost is .. every lil bit of gas saved on the water helps,

I wish there was a ramp at Moccasin Bend that was public, and also wish they would improve the ramp at suck creek .. make the slope less steep , and put in some kind of dock. I know the dock would be hard due to flooding on the river .. but anything is better than what is there .. which is nothing

I've used in the past (when the store was open) and the ramp is in terrible shape. Has alot of potholes under the water that can hang up a truck/trailer. Also the ramp itself has not got any slope to it. To launch there you will need to back extremely far into the water. I had a friend with a small Mazda truck get the rear wheel of truck stuck in a pot hole while launching ( and was still only knee deep in water) about 20' from waters edge. Had to call wrecker to winch him out. KF

There is Nissan Pickup that launches a 18 to 20 ft bass boat there every night got to be a good spot on lakesite ramp
