Woke up this morning and decided to launch my boat for the first time in a month. I've never launched my pontoon after November 1st, but figured what the hell. So I launched about 9am this morning.
No issues launching it and figured I would just hit the creeks and coves around HBSP.
Within two minutes, I thought I was in the middle of a dream. There were gunshots ringing all over the place. I didn't know if I was back in Baghdad or Downtown Chattanooga...it was crazy.
I low crawled on the floor of the pontoon looking for my RTO so he could call for fire on the enemy. All I could find was my blackberry and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. After eating the sandwich and realizing I almost pulled a Seth (just playing brother) and shat myself, I realized there were duck hunters all around. Good for them. I'm all about sharing, but forgot that it's Duck season.
Anyways, I got into a cove that did not have decoys all over it and found a ton of bait fish. I threw a spinner, chatter, and shakey at the fish today.
I ended up catching 9 total bass, 8 LM and 1 Spot. Only 2 were keepers, but I had fun. I haven't been fishing in a month. I caught all fish on the spinner and shakey heads, none on the chatter bait.
Water temp was 55.9 degrees. The humidity was about 215%...it was like wearing the air. Blood pressure was 310/190 at the beginning of the day.
It was great to get out on the water and catch some fish.
