I believe you mean head waters right about here----|
V If you want to catch spots in numbers the Nickajack tail waters are hard to beat. From Chick dam to Moccusun Bend is loaded with spots. In the spring and fall having 40, 50, even 70 fish days are not uncommon. We boated 141 bass one day this spring and had numerous 70 fish days. I even had one 70 bass day fishing solo this spring.
I would pic Watts Bar as the better smallmouth lake. My dad has numerous pics of 3-4 lb smallies and the largest smallie I ever seen in person was lost on the Bar, probably 7lbs or better.
Chick and Watts Bar are a toss up for largemouths. Due to size of Nickajack I would rank it third for LM.
