I met up with Ranman this afternoon to do a little bass fishing. I have no idea where we were, but I can tell you we fished shallow o start off with. It took a little while to find them, but eventually we did find a couple. I caught 2 real nice largemouths, 1st being around 2lbs maybe more and my second being closer to 4lbs. Randy caught a total of 5 I think. He had a couple of keeper largemouths, his first was probably close to 2lbs give or take some ounces. His second largemouth wasn't quite as big, but still a bass. We moved to a rocky bank and it was much deeper. Randy managed his last 3 bass. All of them were spots, I am sure his first spot would keep (it was really fat) ,not sure about the others. All in all a good trip, had fun fighting the gale force winds!! emoEek As afr as water temps. In the main river the temp was 55 and ack in the first cove it was 65 degrees. I caught my 2 fish on a bass pro shops xps rattle, red was the color. Randy caught fish on differant lures, from chartues crankbaits to spinnerbaits. Randy has a couple pictures of my fish,he can put up later. Had a great time and hopefully he and I can get out togather again!!emoThumbsup

Nice Report! Glad to see you got a ride! I fished below the dam near the RR bridge and managed 3 spots, biggest about 1.5 lbs all on a chatterbait. The smallest was about the same size as the cb. emoLaugh

Yep,had a good afternoon with fishinvol yesterday. We fished around Hiwassee island most of the afternoon then moved up the Hiwasse to the main channel bank below gunstocker creek. We would have done alot better I'm sure if it weren't for the huricane force windsemoLaughThe way they were blowing pretty much all of the river was unfishable(at least my best spots). Here's the pics

Also forgot to report the bald eagle we saw. Those things are cool!

Eagle nothing ... I want to hear more about this "MONSTER beaver!" Glad you two got out. Those overcast skies had me jonesin' to be out all day. Stupid work...

Yea the beaver was huge!!emoEek I guess there was a second beaver that we ticked off, it came up right behind us and slapped the crap out of the water(we never did see it,jsut assumed it was a second beaver) ! I thought it was coming after us for a minute. I bet the first beaver weighed every bit of 30-35 lbs!!! If he wanted to,he could have sawed right on through that pretty boat we were in and come after us!!!emoHungry

ranman    ...then moved up the Hiwasse to the main channel bank below gunstocker creek.

Did you pull any off the brushpile out from the yellow bucket on the bank? The water looks to be waaaaaay low up there! Glad to hear you two had a good day and got on some. </p>

I don't remember seeing any bucket.I did go back yesterday with a buddy of mine and lost a HOG! off of a brushpile in the middle of that shallow cove:( They didn't seem to be in there as heavy as the day before for some reason,we only caught a few and the size wasn't as good.Water temp had made it up to 67deg. in a few places, but was as low as 54 in the main TN river channel on the backside of Hiwassee island!

The bucket is on the bank just past the laydowns at the corner. There is a nice brushpile just out from it under a 'hanging' tree...looks like it is on the verge of tipping. All three coves downriver along that bank have crappie brushpiles at their mouths. The best one is at the last and largest cove. I lost a good one on the prop there last year.
