We are proud to announce we will be offering a unique Adult/Child tournament in conjunction with this tournament. A tournament inside a tournament format. Any adult angler that is accompanied by one youth angler (16 years or younger)will be entered in this special tournament section. The heaviest bag of fish (3 fish limit) (Tournament rules apply) will win a Guided Fishing Trip with Richard Simms of Scenic City Fishing Charters. (Each Adult/Child team will also be entered in the main tournament as well). So make your partner a youth fisherman for this tournament. The youth angler must present a signed Youth Liability waiver signed by their parent or legal guardian to be allowed to fish in this tournament

Pro Lures of Dalton rod giveaway.

Due to the popularity of the last rod giveaway we will be offering another rod this tournament for the biggest non tournament fish (by weight). A big 8.37 pound Drum won the rod last time.

Just for clarification. Richard offered this trip in an auction fund raiser for Bethel Bible School. I bought it and with Richards permission we are offering it as prize to a youth/adult angler pair that weighs in the heaviest tournament bag.

I encourage anyone that has open back seat to consider bringing a youth fisherman (16 years and under) as our partner. They are the future of this sport and the decision makers of the future. Early exposure and acceptance of fishing insures a life long respect for the sport.

The $500 TX are always very well attended and very stressful on us if we don't have enough help. We will need a few volunteers to help us make sure this tournament runs smoothly. We had 44 boats on regular TX last week. I anticipate 50 or more on June 12th.

At the sign-up at 5:30

We need a helper to hand out and collect waivers and help draw for blast off numbers.

Need two live well checkers. (One on dock checking water arrivals and one by ramp checking boats as they enter the water).

At the weigh-in at 9:45PM

Need one spotter to watch for late arrivals at 9:45PM

Need two to help with the weigh-in to help free one of us up to take pictures. (we haven't been able to get pictures due to lack of extra help)

Any help you can offer will greatly appreciated.

Grayson Garrett and Lucas Nations helped me carry the stuff back down to my car last TX and it was really helpful. It is the little things like this that are really helpful. Thanks Guys!

We will blast off in two flights during this tournament. Blast off numbers will be drawn at sign-up.

Numbers 1-25 will blast off at 6:45PM and will have to be back inside the Wolftever no-wake at 9:45PM.
1-25 will stage on the Harrison Bay side of Wolftever bridge.

Numbers 26-50 will blast off at 6:55PM and will have to be back inside the Wolftever no-wake at 9:55PM
26-50 will stage on the Wolftever Creek side of the Bridge.

After the first flight leaves, 26-50 will move to the Harrison Bay side of the Bridge. If we have more than 50 boats numbers will be assigned as they sign up. (51,52, etc). They will blast off with group two. We have never had more than 44 boats so I don't think this will occur.

Weigh-in will start at 10:pM.

We have the new booth and sponsor banners ready for this tournament. Lighting is ready and we even have a "Big Check" for the 1st place photo. Please get there a little early for the sign-up so we won't be swamped right at blast-off.

I am going to get there a little early and do some clean up where all the stuff washed up during the floods and set the booth up there.

RE: Keep Summer fish alive

As we enter the heat of summer the water temperature rises dramatically. This brings about two issues that we as tournament fisherman need to consider and take measures to address. Hyperbouyance and overheated live wells.

Hyperbouyance caused by rapidly retrieving a bass from deep water. The swim bladder over inflates and causes the Bass to appear bloated. This pressure needs to be relieved so the fish can right itself and return to normal activity upon release. The link below offers some valuable information on how to relieve this pressure.

Fizzing a bass

Overheated live wells can be caused when the water temperature in the lake increases during the heat of the summer. This can have a very negative effect on bass kept in live wells for extended periods of time. Make sure your live well has a working aerator before you place a fish in it. The link below offers several suggestions on how to keep your fish alive in the summer months.
