For any old timers around here that have been buying or trading guns for year you should remember Judges Gun Shop in the middle of nowhere Winchester TN. Ray was my first real customer 16 years ago when I started in the sporting goods biz, and a great friend.

In his down time he loved nothing more than to go to his little cabin on the creek and cook and hang out. We had many good conversations about the "good times", but I don't think either of us realized the "good times" were really happening right then.

His health started to fail him about 8 years ago and then with his beloved wife Narvleen or as he and everyone else called her, "Momma" passing at this past mothers day, it was all too much for him and Ray left this world on Wednesday June 4th. Ray was 80.

Grants Funeral Service in is handling the details, visitation and burial is tomorrow.

Rest in Peace Ray Judge, you deserve it buddy.

Sometime in the 50s or 60s my grandfather was living and working in Chicago and had a problem with a Drilling he had. He went to a shop up there and was told there were only 2-3 places in the entire country that could work on it and one was Ray Judge in Winchester.

My grandfather was a Foster as in Foster Falls in Marion Co. He was born and raised there but the family went north in the depression for work and he spent 46-47 years up there working for the same company. However he came home to visit all the time. He brought the gun to Ray and they became big friends and were until my grandfather died in 1989.

Ray was always great to me any time I went in and would fondly remember my grandfather. Ray really was a legend. Hate to see him pass.

I have never heard anyone have anything bad to say about the man. He was a good man. RIP.

I remember when Ken Hall started out selling guns and ammo, he did alot of business with Ray. I remember my dad buying shotgun shells by the case (back when there were Quail and Grouse to hunt,)and He also bought me my first shotgun from Ken. I am still friends with Louie today. I knew Ken and His wife from DuPont. Sorry to hear about Ray, I was wondering if He was still alive.
