anyone know someone that leases a blind on reelfoot we are going opening weekend and cant get ahold of the guide im supposed to be going with we dont need a guide just a spot to kill birds

I thought reelfoot was a WMA ( public ground)? I'm sure you draw for blinds, but I dont know about leasing? Rsimms may be able to shed some light on this.

Wow thats gonna be a tough one.You can look for empty blinds but thats gonna be a problem for opening day cause everyone will be on the lake opening day. You can get out on the river around Big Sandy. Avoid any perminate blinds and hunt from your boat or throw together something on the bank. Plan on scouting a good bit. Look for grass where the gaddys and ringnecks are holding away from any perminate blinds and you should do ok. If can be fast and furious at first light and then when the sun gets up look for a spot to kill some mallards. If you find a blind that doesnt have anyone in it at first light go for it. Most folks will be out early. http://www.fws.gov/tennesseerefuge/Maps.html That map should help. Good luck. Watch out for the refuge, stumps, tugboats and barges.

we went last year and hunted from the boat did good but there arsix of us going cause i talked with a guide and he has a blind he was goning to lease us but now i cant get ahold of him and there is no way we can all hunt from one boat safely and i hate to try and pick witch guys can go if i have to make 2 trips to ppick them up i will but i hate to not have a place to hunt

Hagen, me or you one are thinking of the wrong lake. Are you referring to Kentucky Lake? I thought he was asking about Reelfoot.

Yup. Big Sandy wma is on Kentucky Lake. I typed alot more and deleted the part of it about " if i were you... head toward Big Sandy." My brain stops working alot these days also. My stops fot the next few years other than Bama will be to Louisianna and Oklahoma mabye Alberta again next fall. I havent been to "The Foot" since i was 15. Good luck with your trip killing a duck is getting harder and harder these days.
