The throttle control that's on the boat now is a MerControl, IIRC.. The motor is a 1971 Mercury 650 (65HP) w/ Thunderbolt Ignition. The current throttle is badly misaligned.. neutral is back about 6 inches from where it's marked neutral, WOT is wayyyyyyyyy low, plus I'm missing the choke button on top (the two prongs inside are exposed.. currently using a screwdriver to connect them to choke it).

I'd like to repair it, or replace it.. my general question is, how hard is this to do? What should I be looking for in terms of replacements? Also, is there a place that would sell a new choke button, or something to fix it as it sits?

I am doubting you can find that button but you can exchange it for a toggle switch. I would search around and find me a control box with cables that are in good shape and buy it. I think the control box up through a 79 will fit it. On the choke you can also change the switch out to the push for choke type and rewire it but by the time you buy every thing you could buy a good used control box.
