Friday 5/29...
We had 16 boats.
1st. Tony and Josh 14.48 lbs.
2nd. JD and Allen 14.01 lbs. And big fish at 7.69 lbs.
3rd. Oscar and Jerry 10.89 lbs.
Had a great night on the water except for during weigh-in had some fish raise a lot of HE double hockey sticks on the scales and busted the ground wire loose and they stopped working. Had to use the digital scales and that really irked me. Everyone was cool with that except for of course there is always that one!!! Im gonna leave it at that.... not alot we could do about it, those things just happen. Needless to say I forgot to weigh-in and just might have gotten a little cash if we would have.. thats all good in my book because it went to some good guys and thats fine by me.

Now on to Saturday 5/30.
After getting home Saturday morning I was in a desperate mood to get the scales fixed for Saturday Night. (Thanks Derek81 for offering to help me out with yours, but luckily I was able to take my scales apart and get them repaired.
I told my son-in law on the way home that if we would have caught the fish that we had on we could have won the tourn. Friday night, but as most of you had heard my complaining about loosing fish and breaking lines I decided it was time for a change. New line, upgraded hook size and a few other changes, the results paid off. Last night we did not break the first fish off nor loose a fish after the hook set and the results were obvious. I knew I was missing some good fish and it was proven to me last night. So when it all cone together we ended up with 1st. And big fish.
We had 14 boats fish and with scales working the entire weigh-in it went much more smoothly!!

1st. Tim and Mina 16.07 lbs and big fish at 7.58 lbs.
2nd. Steve and Ronnie with 14.16 and a nice 6.62 lb. Catch.
3rd. Pickett and Eustice with 13.86 and looked like all three of theres were triplets..
The good thing about last night was 12 out of the 14 boats weighted in and everyone had a full sack. We had 9 boats with over 10 lbs. And 3 other boats right at 10 lbs. Im sure the others had 3 fish as well but decided not to weigh them. Great night on the water with a group of good folks. Lots of fellowship before blast off and after weigh-in at that is just as fun as the competition. We caught fish on worms, jigs, shakeys, and the best bait was a Carolina rigged SPOOK on 3/4 oz. Egg weight. Thanks Earl Westbrook for the advice. It really works throwing that clear spook after dark... they cant even see what they are hitting!!!????????

You are right DJ. But I will take all the luck I can get. Anytime I catch one I feel like its luck because I know how good these guys we fish with are and its just a privilege to be out there competing with them. Too much fun and great times.

One always wonders what was at the other end of the line when the bows up and then...nothing. Sounds like you found out! Congrats.

you told me Friday that your wife always catches the fish!! guess you were right..

We caught a limit in the last hour in Harrison bay but threw them back and left.
