Ive got a 50hp elpto merc, I put a new prop on it "that works great" and im wondering if this motor has a rev limiter and where it kicks in, If I remember right the max rpm's is at 5600 and when I was running this week with the live wells empty it would get up to around 5800 "if the tack is right"and that was not pushing it,,, I know I might be under proped by one size but with the live wells full its great so im going to keep it and just watch the guage when the boat is light,,,
Anybody know about the rev limiter on this boat???
Thanks
Puddle

I think I have the same motor.Look on the identification tag on motor I think it has the max rpm on there

From my research Recommended WOT is 5000-5500 rpm. The rev limiter is at 5200 IF equiped. These were also Jet drive engines. On the side of your engine it will have 2 square boxes mounted on it. Not all had limiters.
