i just purchased a revo winch ,a revo stx and 2 revo S series reels . ive used them on 2 trips to the lake . after the first trip i wound up taking one of the revo s back it had a catch in it as i would reel with it . now today i was using the other revo s throwing a xr 50 today and all of a sudden on one cast it felt like something broke loose and i threw the bait a country mile . in the middle of that cast i noticed a screeching noise coming from what sounded like the spool. as i was reeling the bait back to the boat i noticed the reel making the screeching noise everytime the spool got a load on it like when i was pumping the bait it would make the noise , i also had to adjust the cast control knob several times to get it dialed back in . the noise continued the rest of the day . when i got home i tookl the line off and fooled around with it and it still made the noise . i tore it down and oiled it noise continues . if anyone knows whats up with this id appreciate the info. guess ill bteak out the old green curados , thinking i should have kept buying shimanos .the winch i love and the stx ive had no problems with which they are $200.00 reels vs. $129.00 S series reels . they should hold up and perform better than that . believe the next couple or reels i buy will be the e series shamino curados . frustrated emoBang emoBang

That really sucks........ but I've had my revo S over a year and no problems so far, and I got a Revo stx at Christmas, still no problems yet and it has rained very tournament i've been in so far this year......... I love mine, but that must suck cause those bad boys aren't cheap!!!

Send it back to Abu in spirit lake Iowa, to Bob Hulme. He is our reel guru and needs to see these also they will return you some new ones. If you have any questions let me know I have worked close with Pure FISHING FOR 13 years andbeen a pro staffer too. Thanks and sorry for the problems

I have 5 Revos on my workbench right now with misc. line guide, anti reverse problems. I love when people buy them. emoBigsmile

That is one of the reasons I throw Shimano Reels. Used them for 25 years and never had a problem with them. Just clean and lube every winter.

I think it's funny. I've never had any issues with any of the Revos. I've owned Curados , love the E series Curados but couldn't stand any of the other ones. I've owned Daiwas, and except for the Zillion , I hated them all. I just keep going back to the Revos. Never failed me.

I've got two Revos, never had a problem. However, everything else that I bought in the last 4 months and what Santa brought me, was Shimanos. E-5 's, 5-7's and Citicas. I just gotta say, I like the Shimanos better!?
