I normally don't talk to folks about my underwear, but I'll make this one exception. emoLaugh

My Mom bought me a set of Under Armour from Sportsman's Warehouse. As you know, the stuff is EXPENSIVE! (Aren't Mom's great!)

It was a good weekend to give it a test. Here's what I discovered.

It works!!!!

And here's how I know it works. Mom unknowingly purchased the bottoms that were the "Heatgear" Under Armour and the tops that were the "Coldgear" Under Armour. (FYI, "Coldgear" keeps you warm in cold, "Heatgear" keeps you cool in heat.)

I didn't notice myself when I wore them. I could quickly tell that there was a big difference between the tops and bottoms. My top half was definitively warm and toasty. The bottoms weren't necessarily cold, but I could clearly tell a difference. And Monday afternoon when the temperature climbed to 60+, I HAD TO STRIP DOWN and get the tops off. They were killin' me. You would have enjoyed me standing out in the duck swamp, stripping down to my skivvies. emoRedface

I went by Sportsman's Warehouse today at lunch and looked at what they had on the rack. I quickly discovered the error. I was worried that since I'd worn them, SW wouldn't take the bottoms back. But I talked to a manager that told me... no problem, they'll swap them. He was even the one that pointed out to me that they had "Coldgear" and "Heatgear" mixed on the same rack.

Before Under Armour gets my full endorsement I'll have to see how well it holds up. As much as it costs, I should be able to write them into my will and pass them on the my kids. But for what it's worth they ARE warm.

Although Under Armour does a very poor job making it clear which you buy for which circumstances. Coldgear is for cold weather, Heatgear is for hot weather. But it really can be interpreted the other way around... Coldgear to keep you cool in heat, or Heatgear to keep you warm in cold.

Also, on Wormhook's recommendation, I bought a pair of Seal Skinz gloves. Can't wait for it to get cold again so I can try them out. I'm getting old and these days "I'm all about warm."

Under Armour is worth the money. This is my second season with mine and they still look new. They are very durable and work like a charm.

Got a visiual on that one.........LOL not really, I hope you like the gloves...I really like mine, and would not hesitate to endorse them to all of my buddies.

I never could bring myself to pay that much for underwear, but my wife got me some for Christmas and this morning was the first time I tried them. I was on the lake all day today running boats from 10 AM-5PM and I must say...they work WELL.

I was out at the mall one afternoon with a friend and a nice lady asked my friend if he knew he had a hole in the seat of his pants. He replied, "yes Ma'am, it keeps the gnats out of my face!!"

Dang it, MB, I wish you would stop telling that story on me...it gets embarrassing...besides, it really wasn't that big of a hole....

I wore my Under Armor gloves during the Tx on Saturday. Although they are thin and don't look like much, my fingers stayed warm and toasty even when my line was freezing to my guides. For about $20, you can't beat them.
