Rifle Scope

I have a 7mm mag (Ruger M77) that I want to buy a scope for. Any educated suggestions? Looking to buy scope on Friday so I can mount it and sight it in for the remainder of the season. Price range is $500 or less.

I would look at the vortex brand. Just put on my m77 and love it. Go see Ronnie or Matt and Sportsmans warehouse.

For the money the Redfield Revolution, especially the 4-12x40 is tough to beat. The Revolutions are manufactured in the same plant as the Leupolds in Oregon. Is the best scope I've ever looked through? No. But compared to anything within $200 of the price? It's unbeatable! Check them out before you buy anything else. Tell you what, compare them to the VX-2's and see if you can tell a difference. I couldn't, so I went Redfield and have been very happy.

I used nikons only before the vortex. I would recommend either or

Vortex and Nikon are both hard to beat for the money these days.

While I've never looked through a Vortex, I've had several Nikons and like the Redfield much better. I have heard several other folks say they wouldn't trade their Vortex though too. Opticsplanet.com has good sales running right now, might be worth a quick check there before you buy anywhere.
