Well our day got off to a near disasterous beginning. Keith found the bathroom to be out of toilet paper but luckily from working out of truck most of the time he had a roll in the truck. Im also thankful for his prepartion or otherwise I would have been fishing with one sock.
Keith and I havent fished a tournament in well over 5-6 years. I helped my son with high school fishing for a while and never really got back into tournaments. It just didnt seem important to us.
Nevertheless here is our report. We caught most of our fish in 4-5' of water on flats on the main river channel. Wherever you found some rock or shell beds you normally got bit. The problem we had was catching anything bigger thatn 2.5 lbs. I think we must have caught 10 or so fish just nothing very big. The fish seemed to be grouped up as we caught multiples off the same stump or rockpile. I wanted to drag a jig around but the wind made it near impossible to fish anything on the bottom. The wind got up and it made for a very rough boat ride back down to the dam.
It was fun fishing with you guys. I think we should be able to make some more before the year is over.
