Spent many hrs in my youth listening to the voice of the VOLS. I can’t think of more universally loved man but am sure other fan bases have there’s as well. A true gentleman. He was 87

John's legend extended well beyond Tennessee's borders. He was a mainstay in college sports across the SEC (and the country). One of the true greats. Geaux, John, geaux.

I used to mute the game when it was on TV and listen to John do his play by play. We was always behind the TV but he was a big part of what made the Vols great. RIP John. Give him 6!
