Got out Sat. morning to search for crappie. My friend Archie and myself put in at the RP about 8:30am eating a deer sausage biscuit while idling toward our favorite fishing spot. Upon arrival the wind was just a gentle breeze but as the day wore on it became a battle of which would win..the trolling motor or the wind. Fished mostly with minnows and slip floats (a little with pan. assns.). The water temp. avg'd 64* for the day. Fishing action was hot and cold. We figured out at the end of the fishing trip we had caught 9 different species of fish during the day!! A total of 51 fish were caught. 4 keeper Crappie, 22 Bluegill, 1 Longear Sunfish, 3 Skip Jack, 10 Spots, 4 Largemouth, 2 Smallmouth, 1 Yellow Stripe and 4 Channel Catfish. We only kept the Crappie, Bluegill and Spots for filleting.
What a wonderful area we live in. All this in 1/2 of a day's time.
