Was thinking about heading down to riverbend to watch Willie opening night. Has anybody ever taken their boats down and locked through. I have never been through the locks. How long does it normally take and how long will it take during riverbend?Thanks</p>

All I can say is be very careful, lots of drunk boaters, locking through is no problem, but they do make you wait until lock is full of boats before they allow lock through, and it will take much longer than normal.
At least on fireworks night.
We locked through one year, and the next launched at river park ramp, I personally would never do either again, unless I had a cuddy cabin boat and just spent the night , but both of these were fireworks night, may be worse that night ?

UNREAL traffic down there and cops out the WAZOO!!! Me and Dad used to fish the riverpark during the festivities, but we would stay as far away from the crowd as possible. You can hear the music a mile away and it makes the fishing a lot more enjoyable. But as NRG said....BE CAREFUL!

Thanks guys. Cops don't bother me, they have a job to do just like the rest of us. From what I've heard on here and from some other people we may just brave the crowd with the rest of the landlubbers.

try putting in at Suck Creek and coming that way shouldnt be as much traffic leaving and taking out... Riverpark will be packed and that overflow parking lot is soooo far away
