Basser#9 and I got on the water about 9am. We spoon jigged up some white bass and bluegill and could only find one smallmouth before they shut the water off at 1pm. We caught a few fish suspended at halfway down on the spoons. I read the post Pointer78 made on drop shot using the depth finder to position the lure in their face and tried the same with a small spoon barely moving it - Caught 4-5 fish like that. We saw Mrwiskers, Alvin, and coworker fishing as well.

There was very little current and water temp was around 49. We pitched jigs as well and took off to Moccasin Bend to see if anything was different down there. Basically zero current that far down river so I spent the rest of the day scouting out ledges and humps with my depth finder. Very slow day of fishing for us. By the time we left about 2pm there were only 1-2 parking places if any left at the ramp and boats still putting in with no water running. I think we saw MadBomber going to give it a shot. It was a beautiful day to be on the river. We totaled about 14 white/yellow bass, 5 bluegill, 1 spot, and 1 smallmouth.

Wish I could have been on the water .. heck even near the water .. I was burning brush all day.. well I was using the hose to spray out the hot coals this afternoon.. did make a pretty big mud puddle, seriously thought about casting a jig in there to see if I could pull out anything. emoScratch
You know its been too long since you where fishing when mud holes start to look good emoLaugh

Glad to hear suspending jigging works. We talked about trying is yesterday but the big blues got us distracted. We will have to try it the next time out.
