Riverpark 12-20

Went out about noon with my son, fished until about 4:30.  Caught 12 or 13 fish total.  1 big bream, 5 spots, the rest smallmouth.  Caught most & biggest on shiners.  Got 3-4 on jigging spoon and a couple on a crankbait.  I could not find my scales so I estimate my biggest smallmouth at about 3 lbs.  Fished my usual rip rap banks.</p>

I meet Rivermont Jeff at the ramp.  Nice guy, beautiful boat!</p>

Looks like that sandbar worked good for ya! What size shiners? Freelining or bottom bouncing them?

Way to go, MB. You da man!emoWorthy 2jigs and I didn't do any good down there the other day, but we didn't fish rip-rap either. We were looking for perch colored hand grenades before we left, but we were out. I'm going to make myself fish down there more often until I get these fish figured out. The day we were there, TVA wasn't running the turbines very hard. Some current, but maybe not enough for what we were doing.emoGeezer

A little downstream of the bar.  I was using the smallest splitshot I had, probably 1/32 oz and the biggest shiners Jack would give me.  There was good current today. 33K.</p>

We seemed to do best in 15ft or so of depth.</p>

GOOD TO HAVE MET YA MADBOMBER. WE FISH FROM 12 NOON OR SO UNTIL 4:30 WITH LARGE SHINERS. CAUGHT THREE 12-15" SPOTS, A FEW VERY SMALLJAWS, AND A COUPLE LM. WE WERE DRIFTING RIP-RAP AND CONCRETE BANKS IN ABOUT 10-15' OF WATER. NICE FISH MB, GLAD SOMEONE GOTTEM!!emoThumbsup

I new one of them (FA & MadBomber) would take my advice to get out there & get'em. Good job Bomber, good loking smallmouth. Clint & I are going to hit the riverpark in the morn. rain or shine. I'm affraid we're going to make good use of our FroggToggs. They say brown fish like nasty weather, we'll find out on Thursday. WAY TO GO BOMBER!emoThumbsup
