Riverpark Spots and Smallmouth 7-30-2006

Fished for the first time at of the riverpark with a friend from work. Caught tons of fish, most about 10 inches. However did manage 5 spots over 14 inches. The best was 3.5 lbs, that was a really nice fight on my fairy wand and light line. Most fish was caught on rock ledges with a yum crawbug and 1/4 oz Florida rig weight with several also caught on bomber model A crank. Felt lost with no grass to flip but made a good day of it anyway. Was hoping for some of the brown fish, but managed only 1 about 10 inches. Should be back to the land of the grass next weekend.

Great report BadBass... I sure do hate those fairy wands, but they will catch fish, thats for sure.

Weird fishing areas without grass ain't it?

Burger and I are fishing the Honeycomb Tourney Saturday, holler at me if you fish it.

Good report, and don't worry. The smallies are there. A little warm to catch a bunch right now, but once the water starts cooling off watch out.
