Well, I'm opposite drc. I'm catching decent numbers of small ... well, let's say "smaller" cats. But haven't tagged a big one last two times out. Got to share the water with Nelson Robideau today. It was Nelson's first foray for "trophy" cats. He got a great taste. As he said, "this could be addicting!" But action only lasted about an hour or so. We started late. Caught bluegill for bait to begin with and didn't start banging cats on the head until about 11:45. For the first hour the fish were hot. We had lots of "swings and misses" ... a real good number of bites and caught five, all between 12 & 15 pounds. I think I had one much better fish on... wouldn't come off the bottom, but he came unbuttoned. emoBang Nelson has several come unbuttoned as well. My circle hooks aren't performing well with these finicky winter fish. As I feared, once they shut the water down at 1 pm everything went dead as a doornail. We've been blessed with plenty of water for a while, but now that lake is down to winter pool, that generation schedule is going to make or break us. BTW, Nelson has been "lurking" on CFF for a long time. He says, "I read everything." But he hasn't signed up. Come on Nelson... join in the fun. emoPoke emoBigsmile
