What is the best way to approach the dam. I have never fished up tight but would like to venture up there but like everybody my boat is worth more than a few fish. I have talked to many and have heard going up through the RR bridge is a bad idea. Thanks in advance guys

Big visible rockpile about 200 yards above railroad bridge... from the visible rockpile is an underwater rockpile/wall that runs straight downstream to about 30 yards beyond the railroad bridge. If you NEVER run crossways across that area, you'll be alright. You can run between the rockpile and Dam, no problem. Just don't run crossways between rockpile and railroad bridge... or slightly below. And actually, with heavy generation you will be alright even if you do ... but low or no generation and you can slam a rock. That rockwall is especially shallow one lower end near railroad bridge and just below. Otherwise not much to be concerned about.

Thanks for the reply, I just checked mapquest's arial image and you can see exactly what you are talking about. So it looks like to the right of it is clear and where the boats lock through looks good to, thanks again
