what forum if you don't mind me asking? I am looking for a used pistol and that might be a good place to look.

Craig if you keep dragging your feet you will be paying a thousand bucks for a .38 off brand revolver.
This rifle is a prime example. A month ago it would push it to bring $900.

Huntingsonny my comment here has absolutely NOTHING to do with your honesty. First off I know guns and their prices quite well. Normally unless they are of a collector variety they will only bring 70% of their original cost give or take. These are not normal times with the gun dealers/distributors playing on and even perpetuating the fears of what our president elect might do. You did quite well if you got close to what you invested back. Another couple months and you could make money on the sale of the "black gun"

Dang that is a bummer. I sure hope you weren't thinking I was saying you are dishonest. I made my remark because I have been zapped by a couple of those dishonest people that sell on LSN.

I agree with cheez on his comments. The price of guns and ammo are skyrocketing due to the fact that people are assuming what is going to happen with our new president. There is a post for an AK-47 for sale on here. The seller made it a point to make sure in his advertisement to point some anti-gun comment about the president elect "This AK will at least double in price as soon as Obama imposes his gun policies. They area already skyrocketing in price and becoming very scarce". Marketing tool. People said the same thing about 2k. People went nuts shopping buy all the bread, water, potted meat, vienna sausage etc because they were lead to believe the world was coming to and end. Folks seem to forget the fact that this countries precious metals are not staying here but being shipped out to this country.

You can beleive it is a marketing tool if you want, but it is not the gun dealers who are driving the prices of guns and ammo up. It is the the average american citizen panicking becasue they know Obama's history on gun control issues and that he along with his democratic cronies will do thier best to take away and/or limit your second ammendmant rights. Look at what happened when Clinton was in office. The price of a Colt AR 15 went from $300 new in the box to well over $1,200 and they have never come back down. The cost of a Polytech AK47 went from $300 new in the box to well over $1,200 and they have never come back down.

Gun dealers/distributors are just like the oil people. They are taking advantage of scared people plain and simple. I know guys that had gun stuff on their shelves and doubled the price on November 5 just because they could. Same thing happened with the hurricanes. Stations gouged people for gas that was already in the ground. The way I see it what goes around comes around. Their day is coming.
