Any of you ever fish these lakes between Summerville and Rome Ga. I fised the upper lake yesterday. Started out bass fishing and caught 15, the biggest 1.5 lb. But the real story here is the crappie, they were turned on like crazy. I put in @ 7:45, there was a guy fish to the right of the ramp pulling crappie in on about every cast. he said he had already caught over 30 and you can't even get into the park until daybreak. He told me that Saturday with a couple of friends they caught over 300 and Sunday over 200. I was skeptical and didn't want the crappie to mess with my bass fishing. Threw crank baits until @ 2:00 pm and kept picking up crappie. There were only about 4 or 5 other boats on the lake all crappie fishing and everytime I came by one, they were pulling in fish. Finally gave in and put on a 2in. limon,white/chartuse grub and got into the fun. The next 2 hrs. I caught a total of 27 crappie. I believe they had slowed down during the day, but if I had put a grub on earlier, the sky is the limit. They were literally everywhere, shallow & deep. I plan to go back Thursday and hope the weather change hasn't turned them off.emoHoppingmad
