Need another rod that is heavy enough for flippin and froggin, but that will also be good for carolina rigs. I have a Castaway now, but wanting to add another. Any advice would be appreciated.

fishinvol how much where you looking to spend? the rod i have from john miles has awesome hooksetting power.
until i learned to back off a little (in the park home run vs out of the park emoBigsmile ) most fish i hooked under 2lbs
didnt have any fight left in em (just crossed up eyes emoEek ) i also use it for flipen and pitchen heavy brush with
20lb power pro braid and it works great for that too. for $170 it was a little pricey but the results i have had with lots
fewer missed/lost fish it was worth every penny. plus i got to pick out colors/handle design/materials and have my name put on it emoBigsmile

I think Rob has some of those jon miles customs with the graphite handles. I would run by and talk to him if I were thinking about having Jon make a rod

Fishinvol,

I usually just convert one of my jig rods or carolina rig rods to throw frogs since the frog fishing season is pretty short. My favorite frog rod is my 7' Heavy action Shimano Crucial. I bet you can find one around $100 since they have now introduced the Cumara line. I use mine for C-rigs or grass flipping when not frogging. They are the best rods I have found in their price range.

Fishinvol,

Shimano has a rod designed for froggin. It's a 7'11" beast. It's in the Crucial series. I don't think they've come out with one in the Cumara series yet.

Good fishin,
Dewayne
