I just recieved 4 Hook Guard Rod Covers from Cabela's. They are adjustable length nylon with an 8" tube on the front end so you can insert the rod with a lure attached and it won't hang up. I keep a variety of rods in the rod locker of my boat, but they tangle up and aggrevate the bejeezus out of me. I bought 4 of these and they are $1 cheaper if you buy 4 or more, makes them 5.99 each, even cheaper without the hook guard (I think 4.99). Great investment! Grab the rod/lure you want, take 1 or 2 seconds to pull it out of the cover, and fish! Really great for handling when you go in someone else's boat too. I use several rods for the different line weights, rigged for catfish with the hooks, leaders, and weights all attached, and this ends the rod locker tangle! Thought this might be useful to a bunch of you forum members.
