i just got my boat lake ready and i want to put some rod hoder on it for catfish what kind do ya'll suggest i get and that want cost me an arm and a leg

PVC with a 45 degree connector mounted on the top. Works great and doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

theres a guy on ebay that I got them from and mine are similar to the driftmasters. It works out to be about 8 bucks per rod holder and base.

I use driftmasters and the kind you get at wally world!!! I like the ones that are angled at around 30 degrees. But whatever you can afford is the best kind!! Main thing when you are fishing for big cats is to MAKE SURE you have a rod holder. Not having a rod in a holder is just asking for one of those big fish to pull it in. I usually have anywhere from 3 to 8 rods out at one time so theres no way you can watch em all at once and it dont take but just one second to hear SPLASH.....and its gone! Lately even the smaller fish have been hitting it VERY HARD and pulling the tip of the rod almost to the water before I can get to it.

Any rod holder you buy has only a certain amount of holding power. I recommend that you have a "clicker" on your reel or either set your drag so that if you get hung or if a big fish hits, it will not break or twist your type rod holder. It can get expensive to have your rods jumping out of the boat. I like the coated steel Driftmasters and my Allens.

I have Dfritmasters, Titelines and some homemade ones with the PVC and the 45 on the end.
Here is how I would rate them;
Driftmasters are good,strong and will last a lifetime but they are not adjustable for angle. $15 each
Titelines are good but not as strong but they are adjustable for angle and pivot. $20 plus each
PVC iis cheap and it will get you by but once again the angle is not adjustable and it will break over time when exposed to sun. $7
My brother has the ones Cabela's sells and loves them. They are totally adjustable and appear to be made to last but they are around $35 each.
