Congrats. Bama played a heck of a game. UGA didnt show up until it was too late. Stupid mistakes and penalties will kill you every time. There was nothing Bama could do wrong and nothin we could do right. JPW really impressed me. I have not been a big fan of his, but he showed a side of himself that I have yet to see in the past. Bama/LSU should be good in a couple weeks. But I think we just flat out didnt show up until the damage had been done and we never could get it turned completely around. There for a moment in the 4th it looked like something was happening, but JPW led the troops right back down the field and stuck it in.

Not taking anything away from Bama. They showed up ready to play and whipped us. Im looking forward to a possible rematch in the Dome in December....

I dont think that whether or not geogia had show would have made a difference. It should have been a closer game but I think alabama wouldve still pulled it out. Dont get me wrong I HATE both of them, but i think bama got the better team. Im just afraid of what they are going to do to tennessee. Heck im afraid of what northern illonios will do to us. LOL

Bama looks like a well oiled machine right now. But the bad thing is they play in the SEC, you and you got to be ready to play every weekend. Ask FL about Ole Miss. Still a long way to go, i hope they run the board (and that is hard to say coming from a TN fan) and win a national championship but SEC football anyone can win on any day.

I've been a Bama fan all of my life, and they've played good so far this year, but like it's been said, this is SEC football, and any given Saturday....

I think that it's better not to crow too loud.

Thats what I'm afraid of. Not wanting to jix anybody here, but seeing as how alot of the team are freshmen, theres always the chance of a choke. Seeing as how I didnt see the GA game, I can't say anything about that one, but the previous games just didnt look like a (heavily) young team. Alot of those younger guys are playing with an impressively high maturity level.

I have now officially switched over to the Tide side. I still have to get rid of my orange stuff and get me a Bama hat, but I am joining the Ranger Rob rooting club.

Most of the TV guys picked the Dawgs to win, with only a couple picking Alabama. I personally thought that Alabama would win and will win the rematch if that happens. I hate agreeing with Lee Corso (village idiot), but he said on game day that Alabama was the best team that he has seen this year including USC (not the gamecocks). Oklahoma probably has the best offense that I have seen, but how can you stop the Red Tide when they decide to run it down your throats?

Speaking of the 2nd half last Saturday, I half way expected it to turn out that way. Getting a huge lead on a hometeam favorite (previously #1 in the nation), and doing it so easily has the tendency to make one get complacent and that's what Bama did. When Georgia closed the gap a little, then Bama showed what they are really made of by driving the ball back down their throats and putting the game out of reach. They are a very well coached team and that is why I admire them so much.

Tennessee is the reciprical of Alabama. I didn't think that the Vols could look any worse the last year that Randy Sanders was there til last Saturday. Pitifully coached team. I feel so bad for the players. Crompton was better off as a freshman than he is now. Same old, same old. Casey Clausen was a four year starter for the Vols and his best year was his freshman year, right out of high school. That was before the Vol coaching staff had the chance to completely ruin this young man's skills. MONDAY MORNING HEADLINES: VOL QB POSITION OPENED BACK UP FOR COMPTETITON. FULLMER RELUCTANTLY OPENS THE JOB UP.

Sorry for the emoHijack

The Tide is very young. We have played 15 true freshmen this year, but they really don't act like freshmen. Saban has done a excellent job getting them ready to play. He (Saban) has said it was the leadership of the team that has helped the younger players with their preparations and on the field play.

What is scary is that Bama only has 9 seniors on scholarship. We are going to get better as the year goes by. I just hope that they stay focused on each game and don't get caught up in all of the hype.

Our offense is run oriented, but the Ga game proved that John Parker Wilson is not a bad quaterback to have. A lot of Bama fans don't like him because of mistakes made last year, but a poor offensive line can cause that. This year the offensive line appears to be playing a cohesive unit and is much more powerful. I just hope that our left tackle does not leave for the NFL this year.

Our defense has bought into the Saban way of playing the 3-4 defense. We have a lot of no names on the defense, but they are some very good players. Mount Cody makes it next to impossible to run up the middle. He has not been blocked very often this year. The linebackers are large and fast.

The thing I like about Saban is his control over the players. I know we had some embarass themselves and the program this year, but Saban is not afraid to use discipline to control it. One of our linebackers (All-SEC freshman 2 years ago) was suspended for two games this year due to classroom issues. He is still not starting, but getting some playing time, in a position that we do not have a lot of depth in.

I am glad that they are #2 in the rankings, I just hope that they end up the season the way they have started out.

Roll Tide!

Hop on in, DK! The water is warm and slightly Crimson stained.

I'm trying to remain as humble about this win as possible because, well ... as mentioned above, it IS the SEC. I have the utmost respect for the Dawgs and Richt also, so I find it hard to beat the hell out of the poor horse.

I will proudly say that I'm proud of my Tide and hope things continue down this path. At an institution where 12 National titles and 21 SEC titles reside, things are looking up again. I've never once been afraid to poke my chest out a little with my colors on, but its certainly poked out a little more right now.

Georgia Middle Linebacker Danell Ellerbe went down injured on the 3rd play of the game. That had more impact on the game than anyone knows. He is the vocal leader on the field and brings more speed and power than any of the backups could wish for. Actually, it was his backup, Akeem Dent, that got the roughing the QB penalty on the play where Alabama fumbled in their first possession that was recovered by Georgia. I think the Dawgs got some bad luck and it just started snowballing on them. I mean, AJ Green makes a catch and turns to cut up to a WIDE open field and gets hit in the perfect spot for that ball to plop right into the hands of a defender. But, I am proud of the Dawgs! They could have just gave up at halftime. But they came out fighting and you could tell that they still believed they had a chance to win. And I know all you Bammers were a little nervous at the begining of the 4th quarter when we cut it to 14. I'll give it to Bama though.. They came ready to play!

The SEC East took a big hit Saturday. Florida losing to Mississippi, Georgia losing to Alabama, and Tennessee losing to Auburn. It appears that balance of power has shifted to the western division. Are you kidding me, Vandy is leading the SEC East after week 5 !!???!?!?? emoScratch

Tell yourself that if it makes you feel better, but this "Bammer" never flinched, nor did the team. Ya'll put up points and so did we, so for anyone to think there was a pucker factor in the 4th is dilusional. It took ya'll 4 quarters to put up one less than we did in two, so I'll assure you there was no fear on our end. The punt return for a TD was huge and had more waaaay more impact for GA's comeback than Ellerbe's absence, but even the replays show no less than 2 blocks to the back on GA and most in the media consider that play a 'gimme' to help avoid a full-on rout.

take Bamas first half and our 2nd half and compare....UGA has ALWAYS been a 2nd half team, 31 is just too much for any team to overcome. BAMA won fair and square, but a GA Dome rematch sure is enticing.....

Dad gum, Rob! One week after becoming an Alabama fan, the Tide goes out and plays like Tennessee against Kentucky. I'm so confused now! emoBang emoBigsmile emoGeezer

Well DK, we get all these converted UT fans on the Bama Bandwagon and things go south!

I'll take any SEC win, but we didn't perform the way we should've tonight. Unlike typical Bama ball, there were a lot of penalties and fumbles, but it's the special teams play that has me shaking my head. There were also some WEIRD calls in that game ... and there wasn't consistency. The calls went both ways and both teams benefited, but it was hard to tell who those refs were rooting for.

Our RBs and O-line continue to dominate though and I can watch football like that all day long. Kentucky had as many as 8 in the box at times and we still pounded the rock ... love it.

More importantly, we enjoyed the game with CFF family. Wet Willie and his lovely wife Darlene came up to tailgate in the den with us and we really enjoyed ourselves.
