THIS IS NOT MY REPORT - Drumking asked me to downsize his photos and post this on his behalf. He writes:

Cuonthelake and I had about 3 hours to fish in the afternoon yesterday and we only caught 7 keepers plus 2 Drum, but we were excited about the ones that we caught.

It is the first time since we have been fishing together that the first 5 fish were all TARP sized White crappie. Candi caught the first 3 on consecutive casts. 15.25", 16.5", and another 15.25". She joined the 3 lb crappie club with a couple of these fish.

I made her sit down in the captain's chair so that I could get a cast in and when I did, I caught 2 and both of those were 14.25" White crappie.

After I caught those two, I made her get back in position and I just manned the net. She caught 2 more keepers. 13.5" and 12.25" White crappie. All fish were released to get bigger.

We fished in the river and when I found the dropoff, it didn't look like there were hardly any fish on the spot. Maybe 2 or 3 and we had no idea what they were. But, the bigger crappie usually don't run with the normal schools of fish. That is my story and I'm sticking to it.

Water temp 51.7 and color of the water was green sandy, perfect and the SW wind was only around 5 mph. Crazy Ivan kept us spot locked on the off shore position and we both had a great time. I won't take anyone else to this spot as it is a very special place that I only fish from time to time.

Thank you, Richard for downsizing and posting this report. You will join the 3 lb club soon and probably before I ever do. I'm close, but no cigar yet. Grin.

WOW! Heck yeah! Thats amazing! Congrats Candi! Two days ago on the spot I've been catching bass I caught a 14.75 black crappie! Must be that time for sure!

Fantastic report Richard / Dickey. Nice shot releasing the fish.

And congrats to Candi for the 3 pound crappie. That is a lifetime fish for most. Great experience. You won’t forget it! And you won’t forget who you were with either.

I remember catching my biggest crappie to this day. I was 11 years old and she was 2 1/4 pounds. Caught in the entrance to Hamilton county park. Dad put me on that fish on a cold winter day. We didn’t catch many that day, but the ones we caught were slabs. He has always been an offshore expert.

Again, great report.

That's fantastic ! Candi's dream of catching a 3-pounder comes true ! It couldn't happen to a nicer person and three TARP crappie on consecutive casts --- amazing. She wishes Deb and I every year to catch a 3-pounder. We're both tickled she got hers. You didn't do too bad either Dickey. Thanks for sharing Richard.

I read this on another site with a little more detail and Candi caught "two" 3-pounders on consecutive casts ? Wow ! Amazing ! emoWorthy emoWorthy emoWorthy emoThumbsup emoThumbsup

Dang !! way to go Candi. I am sure DK is right, those large fish are not usually with the schools that are roaming around now. 3# Crappie, amazing. That report is enough to get me Crappie hunting some. But I have a hard time leaving the Stripers, Walleyes, and Smallies alone.
Too many fish to chase and not enough time.

Thanks for the post Richard.

Regards, Norman

Way to go Candi! That is the club we are all looking to join. Congrats on some quality Crappie you guys.

Stay Blessed, Biofisher
