VERY few (or no) fishing reports from Saturday???

I'm wondering if everybody found the bite as tough as I did?

My day brought good news and bad news. The good news is that the Bowlin's caught the biggest fish of their lives.

The bad news is that they caught very few of them. It was one of the toughest catfishing days I've had all year. We postponed the trip from Friday when storms and rain passed through. It seemed as if the post-frontal conditions turned the fish off bad. We fished hard for more than eight hours... in the lake and then moved to the tailwaters. Slow bite everywhere.... we caught a total of 13 cats.

But the Bowlin brothers and nephew, Skylar, toughed it out and still managed to catch some great quality fish. That means life is good and gettin' better every day!

Friday pre front was incredible! We had 57 bass and one close to 7lbs. Saturday was much slower. We had 8 bass but we had three good ones right at the end of the night that went about 4 lbs each. Thanks for the report!

I just had to update this report since I had such a tough day (on numbers) Saturday.

I had a guide trip Monday afternoon and I was really worried about it after Saturday's experience. :(

Well, I need not have worried. Good Grief!!! Clients put the smackdown on cats Monday. They put 50 cats in the boat between 1 and 9 pm. We were fishing the exact same spots, the exact same way as Saturday. That was the day after a cool front moved through but otherwise, conditions were basically the same.

I've been fishing for most of my 62 years. But it still absolutely amazes how a relatively minor weather event can have such a dramatic impact on the bite. emoEek
